Most of the Canadian immigrants came in the early-mid 1900's. Thought the 19th century, 932,174 Canadians came to the US in search of a better life and more opportunity.

The land in Canada had become over crowded and there was little farmland left. There was a lot of poverty because the population had grown very suddenly, faster than the land could adapt, and faster than the food could be made. So, many Canadians came to America. Almost every immigrant that came to the United States settles in the North East or New England. They helped build houses sense they were carpenters. They were very handy.They helped build the first railroad too.


The railway that they built changed wear they settled in the US. Sense they sold get places faster, they decided to immigrated to other parts of the US, but the ones that could do they did have a lot of money. But most still cept to New England.
